Travelling with kids
One of the best destinations in Africa.
One of the best destinations in Africa indeed. It’s safe! Both countries offer a safe way to discover the continent’s best. Both in terms of security as in terms of travel health.
For families we recommend to limit your driving distances, spend more than one night per accommodation, opt for private safaris with your very own guide, ask us to handpick your family-friendly lodges or other accommodation and indeed integrate child friendly activities (see below).Animals & adventure! What better way to entice your kids than offering them the chance to see big game up close?Comfortable and/or adventurous accommodations. A pool, a zebra in the garden or sleeping in a tent?!  Food that they’ll enjoy. Southern African cuisine ain’t all that exotic to the European tastebuds. It’s usually easy to opt for meals that your kids will devour.
Adventure activities they’re friends will envy.
What about watching elephants from a boat, petting meerkats in the Kalahari, trying to catch a fish on the Okavango Panhandle, sandboarding of a high dune, kayaking in between playful seals,… Or even bungee jumping, rafting and quad biking over the Pans or in the Namib Desert for your teenagers. Oh, and believe us they’ll have ‘Tik Tok-able’ galore (sorry parents 😊). Language: vast majority of Motswana & Namibians speak English. Schools are in English. So making friends is easy!Last but not least: the people. Motswana & Namibians love kids. And they’ll make you feel it. You’ll be even more welcome with your young ones.Documentation & Health: make sure to bring an international birth certificate from the place of birth of your children. And check our health section to keep them in their best shape.Sidenote: some lodges and activities have minimum age limits. We’ll help you find what’s best suited for your crew. You’re all set to give them the experience of a lifetime!
