Moremi Game Reserve
Safari by mokoro and 4×4 in the heart of the Okavango Delta
Moremi Game Reserve is one of Botswana’s most iconic and diverse safari destinations. An extraordinary wealth of wildlife and birdlife unfolds across a constantly changing landscape. Mopane woodlands blend seamlessly into vast floodplains, tranquil lagoons, papyrus-lined channels and open acacia savannahs.
Nowhere in Africa do so many ecosystems merge so naturally. Every stretch of road feels different, every horizon brings a new perspective. It is this constant variation that makes Moremi such a remarkable and immersive safari experience.

A safari in Moremi is best experienced in two ways: by 4×4 game drive and from the water, in a traditional mokoro. The moment you step into a mokoro, the world slows down. The water lies mirror-smooth, reeds whisper in the breeze, and you glide silently through the Delta. As the sun bathes the landscape in warm light, the sense of connection with nature is immediate and profound.
With calm, steady movements, the poler guides the mokoro forward — then suddenly stops. A sign. Something moves along the riverbank. Hippos lie hidden in the water, an elephant emerges from the vegetation and looks straight at you. Moments later, that same tension returns — the deep silence that only the bush can hold. Perhaps a lion, unseen but close.
Then Chiefs Island comes into view, the beating heart of Moremi. A place that feels almost unreal. Here, in the very centre of the Delta, white rhinos have once again found a sanctuary. Rare. Powerful. Unforgettable. In Moremi, safari is not a simple activity — it is a fully immersive experience, raw, intense and deeply connected to the natural world.
